SEEK HELP TO IDENTIFY TWO IN SUITCASES

Pennsylvania State Police are seeking help from all 50 states in trying to identify two victims who are being called Incident N3-27244.

No better identity has been offered for them in one week since a young girl and her full-term, female fetus were murdered, dismembered, packed in three suitcases and thrown from an I-80 bridge 300 feet above the Lehigh River bank in Carbon County.

On Monday, the State Police sent fingerprints from one of the expectant mother's hands to the FBI.

And they coupled the few clues they have with an appeal for aid by the nation's police departments and the public.

Incident #N3-27244 began for the Pennsylvania State Police when a Weatherly Area High School boy, Kenneth Jumper Jr., found the sprung suitcases and their human content at 4:30 p.m.

The wooded riverbank, near East Side, Pa, south of Wilkes Barre, winds far below the bridge carrying I-80 west towards Sharon, Pa and east towards Stroudsburg, Pa, Paterson, Hackensack, and Englewood, N.J. before entering New York City as I-95.

Police said autopsies performed by Dr. Albert Filinger of the Philadelphia Medical Examiner's Office indicate the expectant mother may have been strangled seven to eight hours before the mutilated, dismembered remains were found.

They also believe the suitcases were thrown from a westbound vehicle.

Two of the suitcases are blue, soft vinyl with one side zippers, 23" by 14" x 7.5" deep, the sides sprayed with black paint and bearing a red white and blue stripe on one portion.

The third suitcase is a blue plaid check of the same size with brown vinyl trim and a side zipper.

Three pieces of a rust colored chenille beadspread with embroidered yellow flower and dark green and pink design were found with the bodies. There were also sections from a September 26 issue of the New York Sunday News.

Police believe the young woman, in her late teens or early twenties, may have been of Spanish or Italian parentage. She was five feet four inches tall, had brown eyes and dark brown, shoulder-length hair and weighed 150 pounds.

Police have asked that anyone with any information......

Someone was saving newspapers. This was also very close to Christmas, unimaginable that she wasn't missed. Kind of wonder if this also couldn't have been a failed baby-stealing attempt by a woman, since she was full-term.

If anyone has an opinion on this, it could be really helpful. I am working behind the scenes on something pertaining to this, that may mean nothing, but may end up getting anyone who is interested alot closer to solving it.

Why was the one suitcase spray-painted black with a red white and blue stripe ?? Does anyone think it could have been for the Bicentennial year, and were there any events in that area that might coincide with this suitcase ?? I know that in and of itself seems like a pretty flimsy lead but hey, what does everyone else got ?? LOL !!!

I'm also mystified as to why the handles were cut off the suitcases, I'm assuming to fit into something but what and why ?? Maybe a freezer ?? Were we looking at an earlier date for this girl and baby, and by freezing them, they threw the date off ?? How long could a body ... Oh, I don't know how to state what I'm trying to ask without it sounding morbid. How long could you keep a body frozen without it seeming to be decomposed when it is thawed later ?? Still sounded morbid. But it's just a thought. Or maybe the car trunk was small. Maybe they placed the suitcases in like a cedar chest. Who knows. But if the bodies had been kept a while, that might have significantly thrown off the date the woman was killed. After all, we have a Sep. 26, 1976 newspaper in with her.

And that brings me back to the other thing I'm working on, will update.

Interesting re. Sallie, esp that that is obviously a newspaper photo of her.

Are the top two (or at least the first one) mug shots?
