Harnett SATURDAY NIGHT: In addition to the Pamela Waldher case, NC WANTED brings you the case of Jimmy Nelson Davis of Dunn.
NC WANTED airs Saturday night after the 10 O'Clock News on FOX50, and after WRAL's 11 O'Clock News on WILM-TV in Wilmington.
HARNETT COUNTY :He earned his keep traveling up and down the east coast, cleaning up storm debris. Back in 1989 when Hurrican Hugo hit the east coast, Jimmy Davis was a busy man.
The Dunn native rarely visited his family, but they knew he would stop by for three special days: his mom's birthday, Mother's Day and Christmas.
One weekend in November of 1989, Jimmy Davis stepped out of his mobile home in Dunn.
    He was never seen again.
Days turned into weeks and Christmas came and went, leading Jimmy's family to fear the worst. Rumors started and false sightings were reported, leaving friends and family with several theories, but few facts.
Eighteen years passed before a strange delivery turned this missing persons case into a potential murder.
In June of 2006, a map was delivered to the Dunn Police Department, displaying the words, "This is not a joke. This is a homicide; murder." It detailed an area along I-95 and Pope Road, just outside of Dunn.
It wasn't long before a veteran on the force connected the name on the map, "Jimmy Davidic", to a missing persons case from the 80's. The name wasn't a perfect match, but agents from the State Bureau of Investigation believe the map matches the area where Jimmy once lived.

Confident they have made the connection, investigators are still left wondering who sent the map. Is it the killer trying to clear his or her conscience? Perhaps a witness trying to expose the truth? Though the author clearly states otherwise, could this map indeed be a hoax?
Regardless of the intentions, investigators are no longer looking for a missing person. They are searching for the remains of Jimmy Nelson Davis.

    Circumstances of Disappearance
Davis' boss dropped him off at his home off Spring Branch Road on Friday evening, November 17. The family and law enforcement searches over the years have produced no substantial results.
In the summer of 2006, the Dunn Police Department received a map with the location of the body of an alleged homicide victim. The map pinpoints the location as being close to the trailer park where Davis' used to live. This, and the name of "Jimmy Davidic" on the map, have led to speculation that the map is in reference to Mr. Davis.
Ground penetrating radar and foot searches have been conducted in the area. Local and state law enforcement are involved in Mr. Davis' case.
His social security number has not been active since his disappearance.
Mr. Davis has had previous connections to South Carolina and Maryland.
He has left his home in the past for extended periods of time, but always stayed in touch with his family, attending significant events such as his Mother's birthday, and Mother's Day.
Foul play is suspected in his case.
