Rasheed Brown, 18, was sentenced to a year and six months in prison today for participating in a juvenile street gang.
Brown was involved in the Cypress Manor Posse when the gang came across a member of a rival gang, the Lake Kennedy Posse, prosecutor Jim Wiser said. The Cypress Manor gang threatened and assaulted the man.
Brown was originally charged with misdemeanor assault and brandishing a firearm as well as gang participation. Those charges weren’t prosecuted as part of a plea agreement.
Circuit Court Judge Rodham Delk ordered that Brown be on indefinite probation and that he have no contact with any gang member after he serves his sentence.
